Where the Chief Inspector of Rail Accidents has determined that there are no
significant safety lessons to learn from continuing an investigation, it can be
discontinued in accordance with Regulation 5(13) of The Railways (Accident
Investigation and Reporting) Regulations 2005.
This report explains the reasons for RAIB’s discontinuation of its investigation.
