Marriage (Prohibited Degrees of Relationship) Bill

[As Introduced]
A
BILL
to

This bill changes the rules about which relatives can legally marry each other in the UK. Currently, marriage between close relatives (such as siblings, parents and children, or grandparents and grandchildren) is prohibited. The bill would alter these prohibited degrees of relationship, potentially allowing some categories of relatives who cannot currently marry to do so. The specific changes depend on which version of the bill is being considered, as different proposals have suggested different modifications to existing restrictions.

Presented by Mr Richard Holden.
