Temporary and Agency Workers (Equal Treatment) Bill

<p>The Bill would provide for equal treatment between agency workers and those working directly for an employer, in respect of &lsquo;basic working and employment conditions&rsquo; including pay. </p><p><strong>Key areas</strong></p><ul><li>The Bill&rsquo;s provisions largely follow EU Commission proposals produced in 2002 for an EC Directive which has failed to make progress at the European Council of Ministers </li><li>There are detailed provisions on enforcement allowing for the creation of a regulatory authority, appointment of statutory officers and provision for alternative dispute resolution.</li></ul><p>The Bill was withdrawn at Committee stage.</p><p> </p>
