UK Parliament · Commons Division 4 · 15 November 2023
25 Aye / 303 No · lost by 278 · 4 tellers (not counted)
The Motion for an Address is the formal Commons reply to the King's Speech, the government's legislative programme read at the start of each parliamentary session. The vote is on whether the Commons accepts the speech as the basis for the session's work. Amendments to it test specific government commitments.
Totals are Parliament’s official count, which does not include the tellers. Parliament’s published list names 24 of the 25 Aye voters and 304 of the 303 No voters; tellers are listed and marked but not counted.
