Foreign Secretary offers condolences following building collapse in Riga

Foreign Secretary William Hague today expressed condolences for the loss of life caused by the roof collapse of a local supermarket in Riga.

The Foreign Secretary said:

I was saddened to learn of the loss of life following the collapse of a supermarket roof in Riga yesterday.

My sincere condolences go to the friends and family of those affected and my thoughts are with them at this sad time. Our Embassy in Riga will remain in close contact with the Latvian authorities as they respond to this tragedy.
