Lee McDonough is Director General, Nuclear and Major Projects at the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ).

She is responsible for providing leadership and delivery oversight for major programmes and nationally significant projects, creating an integrated approach to some of DESNZ’s largest, most complex and impactful delivery activity.

Lee was previously DG, Net Zero, Nuclear and International in DESNZ and its predecessor the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS). Lee has also previously held roles in the Department of Health and Social Care as DG, NHS Policy and Performance Group and as DG, Acute Care and Workforce.
