- Annual contract value: £2,500
Maximum contract value over 3 years: £7,500
Contract duration: 1 year initial period
Option to extend: Two 1-year extensions
Trafford Council's Health and Wellbeing priorities and duties are delivered by Public Health.
Public Health has the statutory responsibility to take such steps as they consider appropriate for improving the health of the people in their area and are mandated to provide or commission certain services including smoking cessation.
Smoking rates have declined in Trafford but remain high in certain cohorts. This is due to health inequalities and supporting people in these cohorts requires specialist knowledge and trust. The groups we are proposing to support through this contract are people from ethnic minorities, people with LGBTQ+ identities and people who are living with HIV and AIDS.
The PaSH partnership is a collaboration between 3 VCFSE organizations, namely George House Trust, LGBTQ foundation and BHA for Equality. They will support these cohorts with very brief advice for smoking cessation and signpost to services if appropriate. Details of outcomes and monitoring can be found in the project proposal embedded.
Refer to specification for further details.

- description
- Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council (BCP Council) is seeking providers to join the new Outcomes-Focused Framework for Care and Support at Home, designed to transform the way care is delivered across our communities. This updated approach
places people, their strengths, and aspirations at the heart of everything we do.
BCP Council Adult Social Care's (ASC) vision is to support people to live fulfilling lives, in ways they choose, and in environments where they feel safe and connected
The Care and Support at Home Framework is committed to a progressive approach that will embed outcomes focus throughout the duration of this contract. This means moving away from the traditional 'time and task' model of care towards a model that is person-centred, flexible, and empowering.
The Framework is designed to provide comprehensive support for all adults aged 18 years and over within the BCP Council conurbation, whose needs can be met through Care and Support at Home services, and do not require highly specialist or complex
interventions.
The Care and Support at Home Framework also includes a Waking Night Assessment Service as an additional Lot within this tender opportunity.
The Waking Night Assessment Service is specifically commissioned to support people who have had an admission to hospital due to long-term health conditions or acute incidents, and who require short-term, assessment driven night care to enable a safe, effective, and timely transition back to their home environment.
Contract Duration as follows:
Lot 1 - Care and Support at Home Framework will be 5 years with the option to extend for a further 2 years (5+1+1).
Lot 2 - Waking Night Assessment Service will be 2 years with the option to extend for a further 2 years (2+1+1).

- Background information
- The current WAN solution is coming to the end of the contract and GMC are looking to move to a new provider and a new WAN Solution across all GMC sites. We have approx. 1,800 staff who work in a remote working hybrid model with only 20% of these are onsite at any one-time. Remote workers connect via VPN into the Manchester and London Datacentres. We are therefore inviting bids from suppliers who can meet the requirements outlined in the sections detailed in the required Lots below.
- The current GMC WAN adopts point to point ethernet technology and the strategic roadmap is to move to a more flexible Cloud based SD-WAN model.
- GMC locations:
* London - Regent’s Place, 350 Euston Road, London, NW1 3JN
* Manchester – 3 Hardman Street, Manchester, M3 3AW
* Manchester – 3 Hardman Square, Manchester, M3 3EB
* Manchester – St James's Buildings, 79 Oxford Street Manchester, M1 6FQ
* Edinburgh – The Tun, 4 Jackson's Entry, Edinburgh EH8 8PJ
* Cardiff – Caspian Point 2, Caspian Way, Cardiff Bay, CF10 4DQ
* Belfast - Bedford House, 16–22 Bedford Street, Belfast, BT2 7FD
Current Wide Area & Internet Networks
- The GMC operates from 7 main site in the UK and N. Ireland, namely Manchester (x3), London, Belfast, Edinburgh and Cardiff.
- All sites operate on structured cabling systems, the standard being Cat 6.
- The current GMC WAN is comprised of 7 sites connected together using Ethernet point to point services. This is a manged WAN with service provider Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) at each site.
- 4 of sites have secondary backup circuits (Manchester 3HS, Manchester 3HSQ, Manchester SJB and London)
- 2 of the sites provide direct internet connectivity (Manchester 3HS and London).

- description
- The Blue Belt Programme is the UK Government’s flagship marine conservation programme, working with a number of the UK Overseas Territories to safeguard more than four million square kilometres of the World’s oceans. Earlier this year, the Blue Belt Programme conducted its first offshore research expedition ‘Beyond the Reef’ to the Caribbean UK Overseas Territories of Anguilla, Cayman Islands and Turks and Caicos Islands.
As a component of the ‘Beyond the Reef’ survey, Cefas undertook water sampling, yielding 417 filters (348 samples, 69 field negatives). Our overall aim is to identify the composition and distribution of teleost fishes and elasmobranchs around Anguilla, and the Turks and Caicos Islands in the Caribbean.
We require a Supplier to process these samples using a metabarcoding workflow and provide us with the raw sequence data. As we are aiming to publish this research, we require a high level of transparency on, and input into, the laboratory procedures used.
Full specification details can be found in the Bidder Pack.
Services required include:
- Extract DNA from the Sterivex (0.22 µm; PES) filters (348 total; triplicated per sampling station/depth; 4 L filtered total) and field negatives (69; one per station) provided by Cefas.
- PCR amplify a ~170 bp fragment of the 12S rRNA region, with two primer sets: one targeting teleost fishes (MiFish-U) and another targeting elasmobranchs (MiFish-E).
- Pooled PCR products will then be indexed.
- Sequence the library(s) on a suitable High Throughput Sequencing Platform, e.g. NextSeq 1000 P1 XLEAP-SBS, to an appropriate level of sequence depth.
- Provide Cefas with demultiplexed paired-end read sequence data.
Contract is expected to start 1 September 2026 with delivery completed by 1 December 2026. Some flexibility can be provided where essential, up to 1 March 2027.
