UK Parliament · Commons Division 74 · 11 September 2026
293 Aye / 218 No · majority 75 · 4 tellers (not counted)
A closure motion forces an immediate vote on the question before the Commons, cutting off further debate. The Speaker must judge that the matter has been adequately discussed. Used by both government and opposition to shut down obstruction.
Totals are Parliament’s official count, which does not include the tellers. Parliament’s published list names 292 of the 293 Aye voters and 216 of the 218 No voters; tellers are listed and marked but not counted.
